The main task of Molodist Film festival is to help the development of young cinema. Keeping it in mind we are searching and selecting film works of the talented young people throughout all the most famous film festivals. We are searching, and finding, and giving a brilliant possibility for young talents to take an appropriate place in the modern cine process. Selection is going on! Be sure – you won’t feel like neurotic teacher after looking through the dull students’ copybooks with bad handwriting! It’s a real cinema!

Festival program of short films presents collection of the most interesting works of young film directors throughout the world. The most promising film artists present their works personally. Short form with an average running time no more than 30 minutes makes young film director closer to the Masterpiece and to his chances of winning of the Golden Dear, the main prize of Molodist International Film Festival – world-known expert of young cinema.

About dozen of full-length film debuts represent the most actual trends of the European and world cinema development for the last year. It is films of the ex-students or those young professionals, whose progress took place out of the film schools. Full-length film program is the most qualitative selection. Traditionally the first big creative success is presented by young film directors personally.

Is there anything more unusual than love? It is love of unusual people! The proof of that is the story about two creative personalities “Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky”. The Closing Film of the Cannes Festival, which becomes the Opening Film of this year’s “Molodist”!

Special charm of the special cinema. France is opening to the audience on the large screen. What is France today? Womanlike and frank or bashful and impressionable? Such film-directors as Francois Ozon, Benoit Delepine, Costa-Gavras and others – know an answer for this question.

Who except Germans are masters to set eternal questions about life, love, death?.. And who except them find answers in the cinema? This year German word in the cinema is told by Alain Gsponer, Maximilian Erlenwein, Michael Glawogger etc.

«Molodist» knows what is passion! And that is why, with a help of the cinema, film festival presents the face of bright, sincere, and sometimes paradoxical – Argentina. The modern image of this country is shown with films «The Artist», «Empty Nest», «Lost between Mirrors» and others.

Debutants or people with experience, authors of short or full-length films, students or professionals, but what is impotant – Ukrainian! Film-directors of «Ukrainian Panorama 2008-2009». The program presents the face of the cinematographic process which takes place in Ukraine.

In this program films have different and striking reputation: winner of «Cannes festival», main scandal of year in Cannes as well, possessor of Grand Prix in Karlovy Vary, prizewinner of festival in Locarno and others.

Who says, that youth happenes only once? Here we have the program «Our participants», in which film-directors present their films at the festival «Molodist» again. And this time they are not students or debutants, but experienced film-directors of the full-length cinema.

Sweden! Country of temperate climate, however it’s not a country of moderate cinema! Special cocktail of playing, animation and experimental short films – in one night!. «Young cinema» of the lead cinema schools and best film-directors. All of this you’ll see in the program «Swedish Short Film Night».

It’s time to disturb fantasy and spend night with… short films! The German producers will strongly tie down your attention to the screen! It will be impossible to stop! Night is coming!

The cinema shows different colors on the screen, and sometimes a sunny bunny appears there. It’s unusual, and however successfully complements the usual colors of rainbow. Gey-lesbian program «Sunny Bunny» represents the special tints of society and cinema.

Life without creativity is like the cinema without «Art / Life». Impossible! The program presents films about talented people with unordinary outlook. Vinogradov & Dubosarsky, Pietro Germi, Gogol Bordello , Anna Akhmatova and othersl will show their special world on the screen of “Molodist”.

Everybody has a right to see cinema! Especially if the question is about the cinema, devoted to the human rights! In this program the films are presented from film-directors all over the world, and also it contains the separate selection of little well-aimed histories about human rights.

Representing life, the cinema can not ignore social problems. And this year the theme of workers, who work abroad, rises not only on economic but also culture level. Program «Zarobitchany in Cinema» is presented by charitable foundation «Novi Traditsiyi», which purpose is to help Ukrainian labour migrants.

French scenario writer, film-director, performer of leading roles, producer, and often – all of this simultaneously! This year Jacques Tati’s retrospective view of nine films is on the large screen at film festival «Molodist»!

The Ukrainian cinema exists! And today its location is a film festival «Molodist»! The first screening of films from three young film-directors takes place exactly here! Oleksandr Ityhilov, Maryna Kondratyeva, Valeriy Yamburskyy – these are the names of modern Ukrainian cinema.

Festival program, where every cinema item consists of several cinema novels, made by different film-directors from Poland, Russia and France. When one film name contains different stories, the program «Short Inc.» appears.

The film is based on “Hunting Smiles” by Ostap Vyshnya. The action covers three days: the long-awaited opening day of hunting, the day of hunting stories, and the light adventures of the last day, which occur at a contest between hunters and poachers. As a result the cinematographic competition between hunters and poachers appears before our eyes.

In different times the same name sounds in the cinema - Taras Bullba. Special Event presents three films (based on Mykola Gogol's novel) by different producers of different countries: Russia (1909), Germany (1924), France and Great Britain (1936).

A film with a special Italian charm and character. The story about two different policemen. At first it’s difficult to call them friends, because they rather hate each other. But life makes its own corrections to all this.

History of tragic events of 1937, which will become the closing film of this year’s festival «Molodist».
