About the event
The promotion of cinema is a combination of informational, educational, cultural, media, and organizational activities aimed on disseminating knowledge about the history, current state, and achievements of the national and world cinema among the broad and expert audiences (Law “On Cinema,” with amendments from 18.12.2025).
The promotion of cinema involves not only film screenings and festivals, but also reflections on the history of cinema and preservation of professional experience. Books play an important role in this, as they help explore the art of cinema, document the industry’s development, and introduce it to a broad audience.
During the discussion, we will consider why it is important to write about cinema and how books can contribute to its promotion. The highlight of the meeting will be the presentation of Liudmyla Gordeladze’s book “CINEMA THEATRE. How? Why? For What Reasons?”, which is a combination of a manual for cinema management and the personal memoirs of the author, who has been working in the Ukrainian film industry for more than forty years.
