Set in late-1980s Ukraine, this black-and-white psychological drama follows a young man unable to find his place in Soviet society. This alienation leads many to dismiss him as insane. Driven to the edge, he decides to cross the border illegally, to escape the bleakness of his reality, throwing one last challenge at an oppressive regime.

The forces of evil—a little man, his nephew, girl and ninja—steal the Holy Lily from the monastery. Matsuoka, together with his friend, overcomes fantastic difficulties in the fight against the forces of evil and releases Lily.
