Jafar Panahi
What begins as a minor accident sets in motion a series of escalating consequences.

Jafar Panahi, a leading figure of the Iranian New Wave, is known for his humanistic and socially conscious films. A student of Abbas Kiarostami, he was sentenced in 2010 to six years in prison and a 20-year ban on filmmaking, media appearances, and travel. Despite this, he continued to create, directing THIS IS NOT A FILM, CLOSED CURTAIN, TAXI, and THREE FACES, the latter strongly reflecting Kiarostami’s influence.
