Axel Stasny was born in Vienna and studied Theater, Film, and Media Studies at the University of Vienna. In 2009, he graduated from the New York Film Academy. As a director and cinematographer, his work has been featured on the Academy Award shortlist and Netflix. It has also been showcased at festivals such as the Busan Film Festival, DOC NYC, LA Pacific Filmfest, Montreal Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival, and the Toronto International Film Festival.
