Alexandra Gulea
Through early documentaries from the period, ethnographic objects and importantly, through her own imagination, Alexandra begins her journey back into her grandmother’s world, who was born into a traditional Aromanian life.
Alexandra Gulea (1970, Romania) studied at the art academy in Bucharest and graduated cum laude from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1997. She continued her education at Munich Film School where she studied documentary film. Her films have been shown internationally including Sarajevo, Rotterdam, and Leipzig.
