Hanna (the mother) and Darka (the girlfriend) are united by the memory of Dania, who died in 2014 in Kyiv during the Maidan protests. As they talk, it becomes clear that Hanna—whose path led her from a 2004 Maidan activist to a senior government official—was involved in corrupt schemes that led to the mafia's comeback in 2010, which eventually culminated in the 2014 Revolution of Dignity.

Sergii Masloboishchykov graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, specializing in Graphic Arts. He also completed the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors of the USSR State Committee for Cinematography, specializing in Feature Film Directing. He is an Honored Artist of Ukraine, a full member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Academic Secretary of the Film Arts Department of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, a Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, and an Associate Professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. He is a member of the National Unions of Artists, Theatre Workers, and Cinematographers of Ukraine.
