This original dark comedy, which in places becomes a crime-mystery parable, tells the story of a debt collector, debtors, and a lift operator navigating the chaos of the turbulent 1990s.

Heorhii Fomin was a Ukrainian film director, writer, and journalist. Born in 1969 in Nizhny Tagil, he moved to Kyiv at the age of 16. In the 90s, he was a writer for the satirical magazine "Blin" (both: “crepe” and “damn”). Fomin combined work as a butcher with journalism. He was well-versed in the criminal underworld and famed for his harsh black humor, which is strongly felt in his creative work. Fomin joined the workshop of film director Yurii Illienko and defended his thesis film, LIFTER, in 1998. He served as Illienko's assistant on the set of the film A PRAYER FOR HETMAN MAZEPA. He was published in many magazines and participated in various projects in both theater and cinema. The director's feature-length debut, SEPTEMBER, was released posthumously in 2023. Heorhii Fomin passed away in 2021.
