Bohdana Smyrnova is a Ukrainian director and screenwriter, born in Kyiv in 1978. She graduated from the workshop of Ukrainian director Viacheslav Kryshtofovych in 2001. Bohdana's graduation film, the short PAPERWORK, received international recognition and allowed her to join New York University's film school as a Dean's Fellow. Bohdana has participated in numerous international residencies and labs. She is the author of many short films shot in the USA and Ukraine. The primary themes of her work are emigration and complex human relationships.
