Ihor Strembitskyi

Ihor Strembitskyi is a Ukrainian filmmaker, cinematographer, and photographer. He was born in the village of Paryshche in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and graduated from the Chernivtsi Industrial College. He later studied in the workshops of Serhii Bukovsky and Volodymyr Kukorenchuk, graduating in 2003. He is the first Ukrainian filmmaker to receive the Palme d’Or at Cannes. In the 2000s, he worked in television as well as in documentary cinema, and he continues to work as a photographer and editor on various projects.
